INSPIRATION TO START THE BUSINESS:
Alibaba, Amazon and eBay played a big role inspiring us to build an e-commerce platform called tolomart which is led by young professional woman striving to be one of the top best e-commerce companies in East Africa. The entrepreneur founder of the company believes that young talented and educated women can not only compete but excel in the highly competitive IT industry by creating and a one stop/click online shopping center where users’ needs are met with purchased items delivered to their doorsteps.
BACKGROUND OF FOUNDER:
– PhD in System Analysis (University of Houston)
– MSc in Geophysics (University of Oklahoma, USA)
– 32 years of work experience in Oil and Gas Exploration Companies in the USA and elsewhere
DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS ACTIVITIES:
Our company provides different types of goods and services through our online platform. We have website and application for both IOS and Android phones by which people place their order online.
The services that we provide include:
- Delivery services (food delivery, item delivery from the platform).
- Different types of consumable and non-consumable goods and commodities available online for sale (Cake, Liquor, Carbonated drinks, Confectionary’s like Chocolate and candy, Lively cattle, Meat and Dairy products, Fruits and Vegetables, Electronics, Furniture, Books and Arts, Stationary etc.)
- Wholesale (We sell different types of products in bulk with wholesale price.
- Logistics service (for companies who want to outsource vehicles like cars and motors)
- Packages (for Holiday, Birthday, Wedding, Bridal, Maternal, Groceries, Fruit, Vegetable, Stationary)
- The services we give are provided to the local community as well as diaspora so the order can be placed from anywhere around the world.
- We accept all international payments like Visa card, MasterCard, Discover, American Express etc.
- Charity (people can donate by purchasing products that are listed by the charity associations in our platform. we give free delivery for charity items).
